HELPFUL HINTS AND TIPS

During the winter, have any dripping taps or overflows fixed because a gentle trickle of water can freeze and block the pipe.

Ensure that your external and internal stop taps are working.

If you don't know where they are try and find out. This will save time in an emergency if you have to turn your water supply off.

Have your central heating system serviced regularly, at least once every 12 months - making it run more efficiently.

If you are leaving your property empty for a while leave your heating on low.

If your heating  can run safely with the cold water switched off, turn off the stop tap and open the taps.

Open the attic hatch in freezing weather to allow warm air to circulate in the roof space
